- The operator which links up words is, implicitly, OR. It is also
possible to use the AND or
NOT operators, then they must be written.
Examples :
- alcoholism woman will display references which contain the word "alcoholism"
OR the word "woman";
- consumption and france will display references which contain
BOTH the words "consumption" AND "france".
- It is possible to search by truncating words on the right as to use
brackets to combine operators.
Example : alcohol* AND (drug tobacco)will display
refences with words beginning by "alcohol" (alcohol, alcoholism, etc)
AND with the words "drug" OR "tobacco".
- Author's name (Field "Author(s)"). Examples:
smith
smith*
- Literal expressions in quotation marks (Search all fields). Example:
"alcohol effect"
- Search a journal name: at the line "Search all fields", write the
name of the journal in quotation marks, with a capital at the beginning of each
word.
Examples:
"Revue d'Epidémiologie et de
Santé Publique" - "Drug and Alcohol Dependence"
